BANKSY DRINKER 2003

£0.00

THE DRINKER was fabricated by Emmanuel Okoro in 2003, commissioned directly by Banksy for installation in East London. A technical recreation of Rodin's The Thinker, the work formed part of one of Banksy's earliest and most significant three-dimensional public interventions — a piece that would go on to become one of the most talked-about sculptures in the story of British street art.

Okoro's role was the fabrication: the technical mastery of casting and finishing that brought Banksy's concept into physical form. The Drinker is, in that sense, a collaboration — Banksy's subversive vision realised through Okoro's hands.
