ARTIST STATEMENT
Emmanuel Okoro is a London-based sculptor whose practice is deeply rooted in the storytelling traditions of the Delta Region of Nigeria. For over two decades, he has investigated themes of tribal ancestry, humanity, and the concept of immortality. His work is characterized by a "paring down" of form—stripping away the superfluous to reveal the essence of a state of being. By manipulating scale and proportion, Okoro creates figurative works that bridge the gap between traditional West African aesthetics and contemporary organic minimalism.
