PROFILE
Emmanuel Okoro
Emmanuel Okoro is a London-based figurative sculptor of Nigerian descent, born in the Delta Region of Nigeria. He studied at Wimbledon College of Art, graduating with a BA (Hons) Fine Art Sculpture from the University of the Arts London.
His practice spans more than twenty years and encompasses figurative bronze editions, monumental public sculpture, and the technical craft of casting and restoration. Work is held in public and private collections across the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, and Nigeria.
In 2012, Okoro was commissioned for the London Olympic Games — selected by the London Borough of Haringey for a public installation. In 2003, he collaborated technically on Banksy's seminal East London exhibition, recreating Rodin's The Thinker in bronze for the installation known as The Drinker.
His sculptures begin as stories. Themes of heritage, identity, survival, and the human condition find their form through a process of drawing, modelling, and casting that Okoro carries through from start to finish. He works in bronze, iron, cold-cast marble and resin, and holds specialist expertise in mould-making, edition finishing, and the restoration of sculpture across materials.
Currently exhibiting at the Affordable Art Fair, Hampstead Heath, London — 6–10 May 2026.
