The Anatomy of Focus: A Monument to Survival
Originally conceived in 2006 as a visceral Défense against a world in flux, Stop and Focus (Removing Emotion) captures the brutal, necessary act of stripping away chaotic noise to reveal the truth of the self. It represents the internal command to halt the "psychobabble" of human struggle—the reckless, messy journey of becoming.
Transitioning from an 110cm study to a monumental 220cm bronze pillar on a 30cm black granite bed plinth, bronze pillar, the work serves as a bittersweet testament to endurance. It is a sculpture for the seeker who understands that progress often requires the surgical removal of emotions that tether us to the past. In its weathered patina and commanding presence, we find a hard-won peace—a reminder that focus is what remains when the storm of emotion finally subsides.
