“Echo of Icarus” by Emmanuel Okoro. Echo of Icarus is my reflection on the human desire to rise beyond limitation — to reach, to dare, even when the cost is uncertain. The myth of Icarus has always fascinated me, not as a warning against ambition, but as a reminder of the courage it takes to dream beyond boundaries. In this sculpture, I reimagine Icarus not at the moment of his fall, but in the echo of his persistence — that quiet, enduring spirit that continues to ascend in spite of the burn. The rawness of the bronze speaks to struggle, while the stretched wings embody that fragile tension between vulnerability and strength. For me, this work is about the resilience of the human soul — our need to keep lifting ourselves, again and again, toward the light. Collector’s Note – “Echo of Icarus” by Emmanuel Okoro. A tribute to the dreamers who dare to rise, Echo of Icarus captures the moment between falling and flight — where struggle becomes beauty and failure transforms into faith. Through raw bronze and graceful form, it reminds us that the true legacy of Icarus was not his fall, but his courage to reach for the sun.
